The year of 2017 has been rather disappointing for Bollywood and with bated breath like the 25 nurses waiting to be rescued in Tiger Zinda Hai the audiences and the industry were waiting for a similar mission.
Will it, won’t it?
You get your answer within the first 10 minutes of the film when Tiger confronts a pack of wolves in the snowy terrains of Austria. This is a harbinger for what lies ahead is equally or perhaps more dangerous than this hungry pack.
The mission at hand this time in the second installment of the Tiger series is the rescue of 25 Indian nurses abducted in IKRIT, IRAQ by an extremist group ISC whose leader Abu Usman played menacingly by Sajjad Delfrooz is out to establish some sort of religious order much like its real-life counterpart.
The beefy spy is brought back to the field by a quick fire patriotic speech made by now wife Zoya.
With team in place Tiger and Zoya set out trigger happy and enough firepower to blow the living daylights out of extremists. There is a moment too when Ali Abbas Zafar plays to Salman’s die-hard fans who want to see ‘bhai’ shirtless and he emerges from toxic gassy fumes and nonstop whistling ensues.
The film has enough Salman to last you till the new year and beyond and with Katrina to complement this duo gives you value for money. The hard work put in by Katrina in the fight sequences has been a trending topic and it shows on screen.
The others in the cast put in their bits and you will find Paresh Rawal playing the scheming, slippery Firdous quite entertaining.
The director Ali Abbas Zafar has stayed on course and given the film that Salman friendly hue.
So, will it or wont it?
The Tiger has enough and more followers to see it through to the new year.
